Barrie Police were called to the area of Mapleview Dr and Huronia Rd for a report of a car driven into a ditch.
Police responded and were met by an off duty Toronto Police Officer (witness) who advised the driver of the vehicle appeared intoxicated.
Police spoke with the uninjured driver, found him to be intoxicated and arrested him for impaired driving.
The male was taken to the Barrie Police Service where he provided breath samples of 110mg/where the legal limit is 80mg.
The 43 year old male was held till sober and is facing a 30 day licence suspension and an August court date.
