On Friday July 25th 2014 at approximately 4:45pm emergency services and Kitchener Hydro responded to the Weber Street/Breithaupt Street construction site as electrical wires had been struck by a concrete truck exiting the site. Near by businesses were evacuated for precautionary reasons. Breithaupt Street was closed from Duke street across to Ahrens street for the entire night as Kitchener Hydro worked to repair all the damage. The total damage is estimated at $50,000. No one was injured as a result of the accident.
