CHARGE LAID UNDER STUNT DRIVING LEGISLATION

(CHATHAM-KENT, ON) On July 26, 2014, a Chatham-Kent Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was conducting RADAR enforcement on Highway 401 near Communication Road.

Just after 10:30 a.m., the officer observed a westbound Honda motorcycle that appeared to be exceeding the posted speed limit of 100 km/hr. The RADAR registered a speed of 177 km/hr.

The 29 year old driver, Joshua GILMET, from Mississauga, has been charged with Drive Motor Vehicle-Perform Stunt-Speeding By 50 or More Km/Hr. The driver’s licence has been suspended and the vehicle impounded for a period of seven days, as per statute.
