(HALDIMAND COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Haldimand County Detachment investigated a fatal motor vehicle collision at a Bird Road, Dunnville, Halidmand County, Ontario address.
On Friday, August 1, 2014 at approximately 7:06 p.m., police along with Haldimand County Fire Services and Paramedics responded to a single motor vehicle collision.
Investigation has determined that a Pontiac van was travelling northbound on Bird Road when the vehicle left the roadway entering the east ditch striking a tree.
The driver of the van suffered life threatening injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.
OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigators are assisting with the investigation.
The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
Bird Road was closed between Crown Road and Moulton-Aiken Road to allow for police investigation.
The investigation is continuing.
