(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) City of Kawartha Lakes detachment and the Central Region Technical Collision Investigators (TCI) continue to investigate a fatal single motor vehicle collision. The collision occurred on August, 5, 2014 just after 12:00pm on County Road 24 just south of Bobcaygeon.
The deceased, who was the driver, has been identified as Betty Weales, 64 years of age of Lindsay, Ontario. The lone male passenger was transported to a local area hospital with minor injuries and released.
County Road 24 was closed for approximately 5 hours while police investigated. The OPP continues to investigate the cause of the collision at this time.
