Dawn VOLLERING – Drunk Driving

(TRENT HILLS, ON) – On August 7, 2014 (mid-morning) a Northumberland Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer was patrolling south of Hastings on County Road 45 Percy Township when he observed a truck pass by him without a front licence plate. The officer stopped the vehicle to investigate the missing licence plate and noticed that the driver smelled of alcohol.

A roadside test was conducted which the female driver failed. She was taken to the Cobourg OPP detachment for further tests.

As a result of these tests, Dawn VOLLERING age 40 years of Alnwick-Haldimand Township has been charged with operating a motor vehicle while having more than 80mg of alcohol in 100ml of blood.

VOLLERING was released and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Cobourg on August 27, 2014 at 9:30am.

The OPP would like to remind the public that if you have been drinking the night before, you may still be impaired the next day. If in doubt, don’t drive and make alternate arrangements for transportation.
