TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO DRUG SEIZURE

(KENORA, ON) Members of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have made a drug seizure in a result of a traffic stop on Highway 17A. On August 17, 2014 at approximately 12:00am, police stopped a vehicle for a traffic violation. The police investigation resulted in the arrest of the male driver and search of the vehicle. Police located approximately 4 ounces of Psilocybin (mushrooms), marihuana and an amount of prescription pills. The drugs have an estimated street value of approximately $1,000.

As a result of this investigation, Derwin WOOD age 48 of Red Lake Ontario is charged with Possession of a Schedule III Substance or the Purpose of Trafficking, Possession of a Schedule II Substance for the purpose of Trafficking-under 3 kg, Possession of a Schedule IV Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

He is to appear in Kenora court on October 23, 2014 to answer to the charges.
