(KENORA, ON) Members of the Kenora Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) with assistance from the OPP K9 unit, and the Organized Crime and Enforcement Bureau (OCEB) Kenora Drug unit have charged three men following a vehicle stop on Highway 17A.
On Friday August 22, 2014 shortly after 4:00 pm, police stopped an eastbound motorhome for a traffic investigation. Police detected suspect marijuana in the vehicle and arrested the three occupants. A search of the vehicle located over 500 Percocet Pills, approximately 30 Oxycondone pills, over 20 grams of marijuana and a large amount of Canadian currency. The street value of the drugs is estimated to be approximately is around $5700.00.
As a result of this Jean GAUDREAU (49 yrs), Peter BRAZEAU (19 yrs) and Jean BRAZEAU (52 yrs) all of Calgary, AB have been charged with Possession for the Purpose of trafficking a Schedule 1 Substance contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drug and Substance Act (CDSA), Possession of a Controlled Substance (Cannabis resin Schedule II) contrary to section 4(1) of the CDSA and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime contrary to section 354(1)(a) of the Criminal Code. All three men are to appear in Kenora Court on October 9, 2014 to answer to the charges.
