(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TOWNSHIP, ON) – On September 2, 2014 at approximately 11:26 a.m., Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to a fire at a dairy farm on Wellington Road 29-north of Wellington Road 124 and south of Side Road 20, Guelph-Eramosa Township. A dairy barn was destroyed and it is unknown at this time if any cattle perished in the fire.
Five local Fire Departments attended and battled the blaze. Guelph-Eramosa Fire Department, Centre Wellington Fire Rescue Department, Guelph Fire Department, Puslinch Fire and Rescue Services, and the Town of Erin Fire and Emergency Services were all in attendance.
The Ontario Fire Marshalls Office was notified and is not attending. The cause of the fire is unknown and the investigation is continuing.
The road was closed but is now open.
