(Bancroft, Ontario) – On Thursday the 21st of August 2014, the Bancroft detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received the report of a seasonal residence that had been destroyed by fire on Hillsview Road in the Municipality of Hastings Highlands. Investigation revealed that sometime between August 15th and August 21st the residence had been completely destroyed by fire.
On Sunday the 31st of August 2014, the Bancroft OPP received the report of a second seasonal residence that had been destroyed by fire on East Road Loop in the Municipality of Hastings Highlands. Investigation revealed that fire occurred sometime between August 17th and August 31st.
Both fires are currently being investigated by the Bancroft OPP and the Office of the Fire Marshal and Emergency Planning.
The Bancroft OPP is asking property owners with seasonal properties to check them and report any damages immediately to police.
