OPP INVESTIGATE STOLEN FIREARM

(TRENT HILLS, ON) – On Wednesday September 17, 2014 Northumberland Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a break and enter to a barn that may have occurred sometime in the previous two weeks in early September where a firearm was stolen.

Northumberland OPP contacted the property owner around 9:14 am who reported that he had a break in on his property on Concession Road 12 in the Municipality of Trent Hills to his barn and that a BAIKAL .22/410 rifle-shotgun combination had been stolen from the utility room inside the milk house located at the barn. There was no ammunition with the firearm. The owner had purchased the firearm three months earlier and had stored it at the barn. There was no other property taken. The estimated value of the firearm purchased new would be $500.

OPP are continuing to investigate this occurrence.
