FARM WORKER INJURED FROM GUNSHOT – CHARGES LAID

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment investigated a shooting injury at a Norfolk County Road 21, Norfolk County, Ontario address.

On Saturday September 20, 2014 at approximately 2:40 p.m., Emergency Services responded to the County Road 21 address after a 52 year old farm worker suffered a leg injury from a gunshot.

Investigation revealed that the 52 year old farm worker was harvesting crops in a field along County Road 21 when he was struck by a stray bullet. The 52 year old migrant worker sustained a non-life threatening injury and was transported to a local area hospital after receiving emergency medical aid from Norfolk County paramedics.

It was also determined that several persons were target practicing with rifles along a Concession Road 13 address south of County Road 21.

As a result of investigation, police arrested and charged two individuals.

Charged with carless use of firearm is 27 year old Bryon James SINNESAEL of Norfolk County, Ontario.

Charged with careless use of firearm is 29 year old Rudolph DIETL of Grimsby, Ontario.

Both will appear in Provincial Court, Simcoe at a later date to answer to the charge.
