(New Tecumseth Township, ON) On the 24th of September, shortly before midnight a concerned motorist dialled “911†to report an erratic driver on the 3rd Line in New Tecumseth Township.
Officers were able to locate the driver, and subsequently conducted a traffic stop. During the traffic stop, the driver failed the roadside screening test. His vehicle was towed and impounded for 7-days, and his licence suspended for 90 days.
Furthermore, the driver 70-year old Ian BURNSIDE of Tottenham was charged with “Over 80 milligrams of alcohol in 100 millilitres of blood†contrary to Section 253(b) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
The accused is scheduled to appear before the courts on the 16th of October 2014 in answer to his charge.
