(ORO-MEDONTE TOWNSHIP, ON) – The Barrie Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is advising residents of Oro-Medonte Township, especially those who reside in the area of Line 15, that police are currently investigating a number of reports involving an unknown male who is entering upon people’s property during the overnight hours.
These occurrences have been taking place since mid-August in the mid to late evening and overnight hours and involve a person who has been reported entering into rear yards and onto properties in the area. In one such occurrence, a homeowner reported to police that an unknown person was seen on their deck and ran away only after being chased away by the family dog. Although there have only been a couple such occurrences reported to police, investigators are aware that there are others that have taken place and have gone unreported.
At present, the only description of the suspect that police have is that the person is male, possibly mid to late teens and may have brown coloured hair.
Police are asking people who reside in the area of Line 15 from Highway 11 to Old Barrie Road to report any suspicious persons or activity to the OPP immediately by dialing 911.
