(WABASEEMOONG FIRST NATION, ON) – On September 28, 2014 at approximately 1:15am (CST) officers with the Treaty Three Police Service responded to a reported assault at a residence on the Wabaseemoong (Whitedog) First Nation. Upon the arrival of emergency personnel a non-responsive male was located. The male was transported for emergency medical services however he died enroute to the hospital.
The Treaty Three Police Service with the assistance of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) North West Region Crime Unit under the direction of Detective Inspector Peter Loree of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB) is investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.
The victim has been identified as Charlie FISHER, a 30-year-old resident of Wabaseemoong First Nation. A post mortem examination is pending.
The investigation is ongoing and further information will be provided as it becomes available.
