(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.) – A local male faces numerous driving related offences after his vehicle was stopped by the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP).
On September 27, 2014 an OPP officer was on patrol on Base Line Road and observed that the driver of a vehicle was not wearing a seatbelt. As a result of this observation the officer stopped the vehicle and initiated an investigation that revealed that the vehicle was not insured and did not have the proper plates affixed to it.
Further investigation indicated that the driver was suspended from driving.
Paul DUBAY, 56 years of age, of Coboconk, was charged with the Highway Traffic Act offences of failing to wear a seatbelt, driving while suspended and using plates unauthorized for vehicle. The accused was further charged with driving without insurance, contrary to the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act.
The accused will appear in court, in Lindsay, on November 18, 2014.
