(South Glengarry) – On September 30, 2014 at approximately 5:56pm, SD&G OPP officers responded to a single motor vehicle collision involving a tractor-trailer unit on Highway 401, South Glengarry Township.
Investigation indicated that a 2005 Freightliner (hauling a load of paper products) driven by a 41 year old male from St-Catharines, Ontario, was westbound on Highway 401 when, for reasons under investigation, the driver lost control causing the vehicle to enter the median. The driver sustained minor injuries and was transported to hospital by land ambulance.
The westbound lanes of Highway 401 were closed and traffic re-routed while the scene was processed and the vehicle removed. The highway was re-opened at approximately 8:30pm.
The investigation continues.
