(CENTRE WELLINGTON TOWNSHIP, ON) – On September 28, 2014 at approximately 8:05 p.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated the driver of a 2007 Chevrolet on Wellington Road 26 near the Erin-Garafraxa Townline in Centre Wellington Township, for a Highway Traffic Act infraction.
While speaking with the driver, police detected the odour of an alcoholic on his breath. He was administered a Roadside Screening Device test which resulted in a fail. The male was transported to an OPP Operation Centre for further testing.
The driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and vehicle impounded for seven days as per statute.
Tyler GILES age 22 of Centre Wellington Township has been charged with Over 80 contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on October 14, 2014 to answer to the charge.
