(Prince Edward County, ON)â€â€On October 5, 2014 at 8:02pm Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Prince Edward County detachment were called to Picton residence regarding a domestic disturbance. The police investigation revealed a history of violence dating back to July 2014. The female victim who had been assaulted was treated at hospital for minor injuries.
A 56-year old Picton man is charged with the following offences:
Assault, contrary to Section 266 of the Criminal Code of Canada.
Sexual Assault, contrary to Section 271 of the Criminal Code of Canada.
Uttering Threats, contrary to Section 264.1(1) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
Mischief Not Exceeding $5000, contrary to Section 430(4) of the Criminal Code of Canada.
The accused was later released from police custody on a promise to appear and an undertaking by officer in charge and is to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice, Picton on November 12, 2014.
