GEORGIAN BLUFFS MAN FACING NUMEROUS CHARGES

(TOWNSHIP OF GEORGIAN BLUFFS, ON) – On Tuesday, October 7, 2014, at approximately 2:48 a.m., Grey County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of a break-in, which had just occurred, at a residence on Concession 16 in the Township of Georgian Bluffs.

A vehicle being driven in an erratic manner was heard by a resident on Concession 16. A short time later, the resident observed an unknown male exit the front door of his home. He and another male resident followed the suspect to his vehicle, which had collided with a hydro pole on Concession 16. The suspect entered the vehicle and fled from the scene, nearly hitting the two men. A black dog was observed inside the suspect vehicle.

Upon returning to the residence, the men realized that their dog was missing.

While investigating the incident, police received a report of an intruder at a second residence on Concession 16. Police attended and observed the suspect vehicle, a 2007 Cadillac, parked in the driveway.

The suspect was located inside the residence, along with the missing dog from the first residence.

With the assistance of Bruce Peninsula OPP, the suspect was apprehended without incident.

Jamie CREWSON, age 35, of the Township of Georgian Bluffs, faces numerous charges, including: break and enter (x2); theft under $5000; dangerous operation of a motor vehicle; mischief under $5000 and trespass by night.

CREWSON was held for a bail hearing. His next court appearance is scheduled for October 23, 2014 in Owen Sound.
