A 34 year old Municipality of Bayham, ON man has been arrested and charged with Impaired Driving after police stopped him operating an E-Bike around 12:35am on the 15th of October, 2014.
Elgin County Ontario Provincial Police Officers (OPP) were traveling east on Talbot Street in the area of Inkerman St. in the City of St.Thomas when a lone male operating an E-bike veered from the north side of the road, across several lanes of traffic and into the path of the fully mark police cruiser. Officers had to quickly brake to avoid striking the E-bike. The E-bike was stopped by police a short distance away and the driver found to be impaired.
Police arrested and have charged Todd VANYMEREN, age 34 of the Municipality of Bayham with;
Impaired Driving contrary to the Criminal Code.
Driving while Over 80 (Over the Legal Limit) contrary to the Criminal Code.
Driving while Disqualified under the Criminal Code.
VANYMEREN was released on a Promise to Appear and is scheduled to appear in St. Thomas Criminal Court on November 4th, 2014.
