(GUELPH-ERAMOSA TOWNSHIP, ON) – On October 18, 2014 at approximately 2:10 a.m. members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) investigated the lone occupant of a Ford Focus that was parked on the shoulder of Wellington Road 86, south of Ariss in Guelph-Eramosa Township.
Upon approaching the vehicle, police observed that a male was sleeping in the front passenger seat of the vehicle with drug paraphernalia at his feet. Officers spoke with the male and immediately detected the odour of fresh and burnt marihuana inside the vehicle.
The male was placed under arrest and the vehicle was searched. Police seized a small quantity of marihuana as well as drug paraphernalia.
Mackenzie BILLINGS age 19 of Guelph has been charged with Possession of Marihuana Under 30 Grams contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. He is scheduled to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on November 10, 2014 to answer to the charge.
