(THUNDER BAY, ON) – Over a three day period October 27-29, 2014 Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers from around North West Region attended the City of Thunder Bay for a Commercial Motor Vehicle seminar. Assisted by two officers with Thunder Bay Police Service, the goal was to train the officers with respect to issues relating to commercial motor vehicles on our roadways.
On the afternoon of October 28 and the morning of October 29 the officers were out on the road stopping commercial motor vehicles and ensuring the safety of the travelling public. During the two half days, 112 commercial motor vehicles were stopped, 56 charges were laid, one licence plate was removed, and 24 vehicles were placed out of service.
The travelling public is advised that the OPP is out on our roads ensuring all vehicles are properly maintained and safe.
