THREE STUNT DRIVERS

(MIDDLESEX COUNTY, ON) – Members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the OPP Highway Safety Division (HSD) conducting traffic enforcement have charged three drivers for travelling at an excessive speed.

On October 29, 2014 at approximately 6:29 a.m., a Middlesex County OPP officer spotted a Dodge Challenger travelling southbound on Vanneck Road in Middlesex Centre, Ontario at a high rate of speed. A check on the vehicle’s speed revealed the vehicle was travelling more than 50 km per hour over the posted 80 km per hour speed limit. The 35 year old female driver from North Middlesex, Ontario, was charged with race a motor vehicle, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.

On October 30, 2014 at approximately 2:03 p.m., a Middlesex County OPP officer stopped a Lincoln MSA which had been travelling east bound on Nairn Road near Springbank Road, at more than 50 km per hour over the 90 km per hour speed limit. The 40 year old female driver from North Middlesex, Ontario, was charged with race a motor vehicle, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.

On November 1, 2014 at approximately 5:39 p.m., an HSD officer observed a Kawasaki E6C motorcycle travelling at a high rate of speed west bound on Highway 401 near Elgin Road. The vehicle was travelling at more than 50 km per hour over the posted 100 km per hour speed limit. The vehicle was stopped near Westchester Bourne, and the 26 year old male driver from Toronto, Ontario was charged with race a motor vehicle, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. He was additionally charged with fail to stop for police under the Highway Traffic Act, and drive no insurance, contrary to the Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act (CAIA).

The drivers will be appearing before the London courts to answer to their charges.
