COLLISION RESULTS IN IMPAIRED DRIVING CHARGE

(KENORA, ON) Members of the Kenora Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police have charged a female following a motor vehicle collision in Keewatin.

On Saturday November 1, 2014 shortly after 2:00 a.m, the Kenora OPP received a report of a single vehicle roll over on Twelfth Street in Keewatin.

Police attended and found the suspect vehicle was still at the scene, including the driver. The passenger of the vehicle fled prior to police arrival. Both the driver and passenger sustained minor injuries in the collision.

Upon investigation, it was determined the female driver had been consuming alcohol. The female was arrested and transported for further tests.

As a result of the investigation, 21 year old Shaylene SINCLAIR of Kenora has been charged with Impaired Driving contrary to Section 253(1)(a) of the Criminal Code (CC), and Driving with More than 80 mg of Alcohol in Blood contrary to Section 253(1)(b)CC.

She is to appear in Kenora Court on November 27, 2014 to answer to the charges.
