IMPAIRED DRIVER ARRESTED IN BOLTON

(CALEDON, ON) – On November 2nd, 2014 shortly after 2:10 am, officers from the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were on patrol in the Village of Bolton. The officers observed the driver of a blue Honda Civic travelling southbound on Regional Road 50 with its high beam headlights activated. As the vehicle approached the northbound marked cruiser, the driver failed to lower the vehicle’s headlights. Subsequently, the officer turned his cruiser around to conduct a vehicle stop. While speaking with the male driver, the officer detected an odour of alcohol on the driver’s breath. A Roadside Screening Device Test was administered which resulted in a Fail. Subsequently the driver was arrested and transported to Detachment for further testing.

As a result of the testing, Randy METHOT, 35, from Brampton was arrested and charged with Over 80.

The 90-day Administrative Drivers’ Licence Suspension (ADLS) program was initiated and his motor vehicle was impounded for seven days.

The accused was released and he is scheduled to make his first appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on November 20, 2014.
