(MACHAR TWP, ON) On Thursday October 30 at approximately 9:15 p.m., the Almaguin Highlands Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was called to Jasper Street, Machar Township regarding a vehicle in the ditch. When police arrived, they discovered a Dodge Journey stuck in the ditch and that the driver had been in Sundridge Criminal Court earlier that day and had been convicted of impaired driving.
OPP arrested and charged Vern MARKHAM, 35 of Machar Township with obstruct peace officer and drive while disqualified, contrary to the Criminal Code.
The accused was released from police custody and is to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Sundridge, Ontario on Thursday December 11, 2014.
