(MAPLETON TOWNSHIP, ON) – On November 8, 2014 at approximately 8:31 p.m., members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting moving radar speed enforcement and monitoring traffic on Wellington Road 12 near Wellington Road 8 in Mapleton Township.
At this time and location police observed a south bound motor vehicle travelling at a speed well above the posted speed limit. The vehicle was clocked on radar at 138 km/h in an 80 km/h zone.
The driver’s licence and vehicle were seized for a period of 7 days as per statute.
Simon HUININK age 35 of Stratford has been charged with Race a Motor Vehicle contrary to the Highway Traffic Act. He is to appear in Guelph Provincial Court on December 17, 2014 to answer to the charge.
