Timothy Jolly Added To Hall Of Shame – Trafficking, Weapons Charges, Tried To Out Run Police

FIREARM AND DRUGS SEIZED AT RIDE CHECK – MALE CHARGED

(HARRISTON, ON) – On December 8, 2012 at 2:25am, the County of Wellington OPP were conducting a R.I.D.E. spot check at Elora Street north and Union Street in Harriston. A 2005 Grand Am entered the spot check, and the officer detected the odour of burnt marijuana coming from the vehicle. The male driver was requested to exit the vehicle by police, and upon doing so bolted from the scene. Two officers gave chase, and observed him remove an object from his coat pocket and discard it. After a short foot pursuit and brief struggle, the male was arrested. Police searched the area where the object was discarded and located a loaded .22 calibre handgun. The vehicle was searched and a quantity of Marijuana, cash, and a replica handgun was seized.

Timothy Jolly, age 49 of South Bruce is charged with the following offences:

Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking, contrary to the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

Possession of Prohibited or Restricted Firearm/ammunition

Possession of Weapon for Dangerous Purpose

Carrying a concealed weapon

Careless Use of Firearm

Obstruct/Resist Peace Officer

Knowledge of Unauthorized Possession of Firearm – all contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.

He was held in custody, awaiting a bail hearing on December 10 2012.
