(Town of New Tecumseth, ON)- On July 27, 2013, at approximately 1:01pm, Officers from the Nottawasaga Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a call regarding a motor vehicle collision involving a roll over. The collision took place on Tottenham Road near the 2nd Line of the Town of New Tecumseth.
Initial information indicated there was an odour of gasoline and the vehicle covered the Canadian Pacific (CP) railroad tracks. Police arrived on scene to find the vehicle off to the side of the tracks and for everyone’s safety at the scene, Police advised CP to hold all train traffic while the collision was under investigation. Town of New Tecumseth Fire Department and Simcoe County paramedic’s attended and assisted at the scene.
Police determined that the vehicle went off the road onto the shoulder striking a CP hydro pole then rolled over. The driver suffered minor injuries. The pole was damaged and pieces were falling off. The driver, 30 year old Andrew GREEN was issued a provincial offences notice for Careless Driving under the Highway Traffic Act.
