ROBBERY AT RED SKY SMOKE SHOP

(CHIPPEWA OF THE THAMES) On Monday July 29, 2013 at 9:45 a.m. members of the Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and Middlesex OPP Crime Unit were requested to assist the Chippewa of the Thames Police Service in regards to a reported robbery at the Red Sky Smoke Shop located at Three Fires Road, Chippewa of the Thames First Nation.

Police have learned that at approximately 8:30 a.m. 10-15 unknown male parties arrived at the business in two separate vehicles. At the time the suspects were observed to be wearing all black clothing and masks. Once inside the store the suspects ordered the two employees to exit the property and leave the scene. It has been alleged that one male party was observed to be carrying what was described as a black handgun at the time of the offence. The suspects proceeded to remove a quantity of product valued at $20,000-25,000 as well as $450 in Canadian Currency. Both employees left the scene without incident and no injuries were reported to police.

The suspect vehicles have been described as an un-plated, extended cab, Ford F150 pick-up truck, black in colour and a newer white GMC panel van with no windows.
