TRANSPORT DRIVER INJURED AS A RESULT OF COLLISION

(MARATHON ON) -On Thursday August 8, 2013 around 11:10 am, a westbound tractor trailer unit loaded with wood chips hit a rock cut along Highway 17 near Cache Lake in Lecoeur Township.

Officers from the Marathon detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) attended the scene to investigate and conduct traffic control. The Marathon Fire Department and Superior North EMS also attended to assist with the injured male driver and hazardous conditions.

Michel BROUSSEAU, 58, from Ville-Marie QC, was taken to Wilson Memorial General hospital for medical treatment. The transport was removed from the ditch by Albert & Sons Towing out of White River.

The investigation is on-going.
