(SD&G) – On 17July13, Seaway Valley Crimes Stoppers held its annual golf tournament at the Iroquois golf club in South Dundas, Township.
The event drew a great crowd and the weather could not have been more accommodating for all who played. The event raised over $24,000.00 to help fund Seaway Valley Crime Stoppers. OPP coordinator Constable Pete Robertson stated “continued support from local businesses and sponsors are vital in keeping the program a successâ€Â.
The Team Scotia Community Program provides matching funds to assist qualifying community based organizations like Crime Stoppers, the staff from Cornwall and Morrisburg branches deserve a great deal of credit on a successful fundraiser.
The participating staff members from both Scotia Banks were a large part of the ticket sales and collecting of fees.
We look forward to their continued support so that the Crime Stoppers program can remain proactive in the fight against crime in our community.
