(ADELAIDE-METCALFE, ON) – On August 15, 2013 at approximately 2:06 p.m. Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), the OPP Technical Traffic Collision Investigation (TTCI) Team, fire and paramedics responded to a serious three vehicle collision on Centre Road just south of Highway 402. A black Chrysler 300 from Michigan exited eastbound Highway 402 at Centre Road. The car entered onto Centre Road and collided with a southbound dump truck. A northbound water tanker truck was also involved in the collision.
The female driver was extricated from the vehicle by fire crews and was airlifted to hospital with life-threatening injuries and her husband was transported by ambulance to hospital. Barbara STONE, age 83 of Bloomfield Hills, Michigan remains in critical condition. The passenger, 84 year old Charles STONE has been discharged from the hospital. The drivers of the trucks were transported to Strathroy hospital with minor injuries and have since been released.
The investigation remains ongoing.
