Thefts from unlocked vehicles continue to occur in Renfrew County. Residents in McNab/Braeside Township were hit this past week, with thieves grabbing anything of value in unlocked vehicles. Owners are reminded to remove valuables from vehicles overnight, and to lock your vehicle when not being used. These two simple acts will greatly reduce your risk of being a victim of theft.
An iPad was stolen from a vehicle while parked at Pine Valley Restaurant in Griffith on Wednesday August 21 while the owner stopped for lunch. There are no suspects.
An iPod was reported stolen to the Renfrew OPP on August 19. The victim reported they had some friends visiting their home in Arnprior and after they left discovered the theft. Following an investigation by Provincial Constable Ryan Besner the iPod was recovered and a16-year-old male from Arnprior was charged with theft under $5,000 and possession of stolen property under $5,000. He was released on a youth promise to appear in youth court in Renfrew on October 21.
