(MUNICIPALITY OF WEST PERTH, ON) On Wednesday September 04, 2013, shortly before 5:30 p.m. Perth County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers were dispatched to a collision involving a car into a building at the corner of St. George St. and Ontario Rd in Mitchell.
Investigation revealed that a Toyota Camry had pulled into a parking space facing Dorothy’s Restaurant & Bake Shop. The driver stopped the car and while the vehicle was still in “Drive†pressed the accelerator. The car lunged forward, jumped the curb, and struck the front of the building causing the window to break. No one inside the restaurant was hurt. The 87 year old driver, a Stratford resident was uninjured. The vehicle was able to be driven away. No charges have been laid.
