MVC Update: Victims In Stable Condition

(MUNICIPALITY OF GREY HIGHLANDS, ON) The victims involved in a motor vehicle collision which occurred yesterday, September 5, 2013, on Hwy. 10 in the Municipality of Grey Highlands, are in stable condition.

The driver of the Honda Civic, a 17 year old male from Southgate, and a 15 year old female passenger from Grey Highlands, are in stable condition at St. Michael’s Hospital in Toronto and Victoria Hospital in London, respectively. A third passenger, a 16 year old male from West Grey, has been released from the Markdale Hospital.

Investigation revealed the Honda was travelling northbound on Hwy. 10. It was attempting to pass a Jeep, also northbound, when the Jeep pulled out into the southbound lane to pass another northbound vehicle, a 2000 Volkswagen. The driver of the Honda lost control of the vehicle and side-swiped the Volkswagen. The Honda then entered the west ditch and collided with a tree.

The three male occupants in the Jeep, ages 16-17 and the two occupants in the Volkswagen were not injured. The parties involved were from Grey Highlands, Southgate and West Grey.

The investigation continues. Charges are pending.
