(Georgian Bay Township, On) On Saturday September 7, 2013 at 3:47pm members of the Marine Unit attached to the Southern Georgian Bay Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were dispatched to investigate a 2 vessel crash in Mermaid Island Channel of Honey Harbour.
The second involved vessel failed to remain at the scene and fled prior to the arrival of police. The vessel is described as a 18-20’ center console vessel with a grey/blue canvass bow and powered by a grey/blue coloured 100-135 horsepower outboard engine. The vessel was being operated at the time by a lone male who appeared to be in his 70’s.
