(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment is investigating the theft of a bicycle and wallet from a Donly Drive South, Simcoe, Norfolk County, Ontario address.
On Wednesday, September 18, 2013, in the early morning hours, unknowns attended the address and proceeded to remove a bicycle from an unlocked shed located on the property. Unknowns then entered an unlocked motor vehicle parked in the driveway of the residence and removed a wallet containing personal and financial information.
The bicycle is described as a Norco 125 mountain bike, lime green in colour, with yellow and green handle bars with grey coloured hand grips. The bicycle has white spokes and white pedals.
The theft is valued at approximately $1,500 dollars.
Some tips that may help prevent bicycle theft.
Invest in a good bicycle lock.
Make sure your bicycle is out of sight and not left in the an open area without being locked.
Make sure that your bike and the area that you store your bicycle is locked and secured
Here are some tips to prevent you from becoming a victim of theft from a vehicle.
Always secure your vehicle doors when parking your vehicle, even if you are only going to be a few minutes.
Remove valuables from your vehicle. If you can’t, then keep them from plain view.
Park in well lighted areas with high traffic.
Clean out your garage and park your vehicle in it – locking your vehicle and the garage door.
