(SOUTH PORCUPINE) The South Porcupine OPP has laid drug related charges against two persons stemming from a routine traffic stop on September 15th at
Hwy 101 in Mountjoy Twp, west of Timmins.
While on patrol, a South Porcupine OPP officer had occasion to attempt to stop a vehicle for an alleged traffic violation.
Based on investigative cues observed by the officer, two persons were arrested for Possession of a Controlled Substance.
As a result of a search under the Controlled Drug and Substances Act , the OPP officer located and seized a quantity of suspected marijuana, along with other drug paraphernalia.
Justin PLOUFFE, 20, and Tyler POTVIN, 20, both of Timmins, have been charged with one count each of Possession of a Controlled Substance contrary to the Controlled Drug and Substances Act.
Each accused person was released from police custody but must attend Provincial Court in Timmins to answer to the charges laid against them.
