(Petawawa, Ontario) – The Upper Ottawa Valley Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are currently investigating a serious fatal four vehicle collision on Hwy 17 just west of Driftwood Park Road in Head Clara Maria Twp. The collision was reported at approximately 10:57 am today.
A car travelling westbound on Highway 17 near Driftwood Provincial Park struck a tractor-trailer that was travelling eastbound on Highway 17. The driver of the car, 84 year old Jeannine LAVIGNE-VAILLANCOURT of North Bay Ontario was pronounced dead at the scene.
P/C John Riendeau is the investigating officer. Ontario Provincial Police Technical Traffic Collision Investigators are assisting with the investigation. The investigation is continuing.
