(Cavan Monaghan Township, ON) – On Saturday September 28, at approximately 8:40 am officers from the Peterborough County OPP were called to a single motor vehicle collision that occurred on County Road 28 near Moore Drive.
Upon arriving at the scene officers learned that a grey Saturn VUE had left the roadway and come to rest in a ditch near Moore Drive. The driver then fled the scene of the accident leaving behind passengers in the vehicle.
The driver 32 year old Byron HARNUM of City of Peterborough was located near the scene. He was arrested and charged with Impaired Operation, Having over 80 mgs of alcohol in a 100ml of blood, and Disqualified Driving.
HARNUM is scheduled to appear in Peterborough Provincial Courts on October 31, 2013 to answer to the charges.
