(CALEDON, ON) – On Friday, October 4, 2013, at 7:25 pm, a concerned citizen contacted the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) to report a possible impaired driver on Highway 10. Several officers attended the area and located the suspect vehicle, a 2006 Ford SUV, being driven in an erratic manner. As a result, the officers activated their emergency equipment and intercepted the motor vehicle near Highpoint Side Road. Upon speaking with the female driver, the officers detected a strong odour of alcohol on the her breath. Subsequently, the driver was arrested and transported to Detachment for further testing.
Once the investigation was concluded, Cathy A. KELLY, 50, of Brampton was arrested and charged with Impaired Driving and Over 80 mgs. .
The Administrative Drivers’ Licence Suspension (ADLS) program was initiated and her motor vehicle was impounded for seven days.
The accused is scheduled to make her first appearance at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on October 24, 2013.
