(QUINTE WEST, ON) – On the 8th of October 2013 at approx. 2pm, officers from the Quinte West detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police were following a vehicle traveling east bound on the 401 just west of Walbridge Loyalist Road. Officers stopped the vehicle for an expired validation sticker. After a brief investigation, the vehicles occupants were found to be in possession of a controlled substance believed to be cocaine. The driver, 30 year old Justin HOWARD of Ameliasburgh, passenger 27 year old Devin ROHERTY of Belleville and passenger 27 year old Paige COOKE of Kingston were all arrested and charged with Possession for the Purpose of Trafficking. ROHERTY and COOKE were released on a Promise to appear with a court date later in November. HOWARD was further charged with four counts of failing to comply with a Recognizance and is being held for a bail hearing in Belleville later today.
