Meat Containing Nails Left In Park – Pet Owners Cautioned

(The Blue Mountains, Ontario) Officers from the Collingwood and The Blue Mountains detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are warning residents of The Blue Mountains and area after a discovery was made in an area park.

On the 14th of October 2013 police received a call for service in regards to a resident who had found several pieces of meat (poultry) with small metal nails contained in the meat. This was located in a public park on Alice Street in Thornbury and had the potential to cause injury to children playing in the park or to an animal, possibly someone’s pet, who may have tried to consume the item.

Police are warning people with pets or children using this park to be cautious and to keep pets on leashes and to contact police if anything suspicious is found. Investigation is continuing.
