(MORRIS-TURNBERRY, ON) – A citizen complaint regarding a possible impaired driver led to the arrest of a 50 year old female driver on October 12, 2013. Just after 11:00 p.m. a Huron County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer spotted the suspect vehicle, a Hyundai sports utility vehicle travelling in an erratic fashion northbound on London Road . The vehicle was stopped just south of Wingham.
Upon stopping the vehicle the police officer observed open alcohol inside the vehicle and also observed the driver to be displaying several signs that she was impaired by alcohol. She was arrested for Impaired Driving and transported to the Huron OPP detachment for breath tests. The driver failed to provide suitable samples to the Breath Technician.
As a result, Sylvie LAWSON, 50, from Aweres Township, has been charged with Impaired Operation and Fail to Provide a Breath Sample. She has a court date scheduled for the Ontario Court of Justice – Goderich on November 25, 2013. She received an automatic 90 day driver’s licence suspension and her motor vehicle has been impounded for seven days.
