(Madoc Township, ON) – On October 14, 2013 at 12:50pm Central Hastings O.P.P stopped a vehicle for speeding on Highway #62 near Hazzards Road in Madoc Township. The vehicle was travelling 144km per hour in a posted 80km per hour zone. During the traffic stop it was discovered that the driver had been consuming alcohol and he subsequently failed the roadside screening device.
As a result of an investigation 44 year old Wenham BURNETT of Merrickville, ON was charged with Over 80mg and Operate a Motor Vehicle While Performing a Stunt – Speeding. His vehicle was impounded for 7 days and his driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days. He will appear in Belleville Provincial Court on November 7, 2013.
