(QUINTE WEST, ON) – Over the past 3 days, officers from the Quinte West detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) conducted numerous R.I.D.E checks throughout the City of Quinte West.
Over 200 vehicles and drivers were stopped and checked resulting in 1 impaired charge and 5 Highway Traffic Act charges being laid.
On the 20th of October 2013 at approx. 8pm, OPP officers were conducting a R.I.D.E check at the intersection of Store Street and Old Wooler Road. Police stopped and checked the driver of 2008 Infinity.
After a brief investigation the driver, 56 year old James MASON of Murray Ward, was arrested for impaired driving and over 80mgs.
MASON was released on a Promise to Appear with a court date in November 2013.
