(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment is warning farmers of suspicious activities in the farming community specifically around tobacco farms after a break and enter was reported from a Windham Road 10, Windham, Norfolk County, Ontario address.
On Sunday, October 20, 2013 in the early morning hours, unknowns attended the address and gained entry into a locked trailer located on the property. Once inside, unknowns proceeded to remove six bales of tobacco.
The theft is estimated at approximately $9,800 dollars.
Through the course of investigation it has been determined that unknown suspects attended several properties in the farming community. A stolen pick-up truck was subsequently located in the area of the tobacco theft after tire tracks were located on various properties.
Unknowns suspects attempted to enter a second property in the area of Windham Road 10 however were unsuccessful.
