POLICE WARNING RESIDENTS ABOUT HOME SECURITY AFTER SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY REPORTED

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment want to remind all Norfolk County resident’s about home security after police were contacted by a concerned homeowner at a Concession 10, Townsend, Norfolk County, Ontario address.

On Tuesday, October 22, 2013, at approximately 9:17 p.m., a homeowner contacted police after noticing a suspicious All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) with two males by a barn located on their property. The homeowner exited their residence at which time the ATV fled through adjacent fields.

The homeowner also noted that a pick-up truck was also near the barn and when the occupants observed the resident, the truck fled from the area.

The OPP would like to take this opportunity to remind all residents of the importance of home security. Please ensure that your residences, garages, outbuidings and barns are locked. Police also advise to turn lighting on and watch for suspicious persons and vehicles.

If you see suspicious persons or vehicles, try to obtain as much detail as you can, write down the person(s) description, the type of vehicle they are driving and the licence plate number.

Then don’t delay, call the police and report it. 1 – 888 – 310 – 1122 will put you in contact with the nearest O.P.P. Communications Centre to report the activity. OPP (677) on your cellular will also work.
